Málaga's nightlife lives in the old town: a tight grid of streets where you can walk between clubs in minutes. Here are the spots we send friends to.
The clubs
- Barsovia Club — Calle Menéndez Núñez. Compact, high-energy dancefloor playing reggaeton, Latin and house. Free entry most nights, drinks reasonably priced, busy from around 1:30am.
- Neo Club — Calle Beatas. The go-to for electronic, techno and house. Better sound system than most rooms in the centre and a crowd that actually comes to dance. Doors open late; peak hours 2–5am.
The sports bar
- O'Connors Irish Pub — Málaga's reliable pick for live football, rugby and Six Nations. Multiple screens, Guinness on tap, and an easy-going crowd. Good warm-up before heading to the clubs, or a calm landing after.
Practical tips
- Nothing kicks off before midnight. Have dinner late (10–11pm), pre-drinks at a tapas bar, then head out.
- Most clubs in the centre are free or cheap to enter — pay for drinks at the bar, no minimums.
- Cabs are easy to find on Alameda Principal; Cabify and FreeNow both work in the city.
- Dress code is relaxed. No flip-flops or beachwear after dark.
